Drents Museum
The Drents Museum in Assen dates from 1854. In recent history, the museum has managed to organize many sensational exhibitions. In 2011 the museum was expanded with a new museum wing, and since then it has been known as one of the most important attractions in the north of The Netherlands.

Museum De Buitenplaats
Museum De Buitenplaats in Eelde is also worth visiting. It consists of a museum pavilion, museum garden with orangery and museum café, and the seventeenth-century Nijsinghhuis. Kamp Westerbork
The history of Kamp Westerbork is mainly known due to the years 1942-1945. Until its demolition in 1971, the camp was used almost constantly. Today, the museum paints an impressive picture of the years during the war, and you can walk around the site with its rich history.

Orvelte
In the monument village of Orvelte, people live and work in an authentic environment from the 19th century. The village exudes nostalgia, it’s an experience that you cannot miss. During a walk on the Orvelterveld you will find yourself in past times.

Greetings from Grolloo
Grolloo is home to Cuby & The Blizzards, and therefore Dutch Blues. In the Drenthe village – about 30 km from Hotel De Drift – you’ll also find the C+B Museum, a museum about blues band Cuby & The Blizzards and singer Harry Muskee.
